Is Colandrea Bailing Too Early?

Nebraska football’s offensive execution under coordinator Dana Holgorsen requires precise timing, intermediate route spacing, and strict quarterback progression discipline. In this tactical breakdown, we examine starting quarterback Anthony Colandrea's pocket presence and film mechanics. While Colandrea’s escapability and arm talent produce explosive deep shots to wide receivers like Jacory Barney Jr. and Nyziah Hunter, leaving clean pockets prematurely erases backside dig routes and breaks rhythm on mesh concepts. We review Holgorsen’s coaching points, evaluate Colandrea's vision against Big Ten defensive coverages, and explore how Matt Rhule’s offensive line protection enables downfield shot plays.
