Nebraska football continued its streak on the recruiting trail, landing a commitment from three-star linebacker Eli Harris of Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect announced his decision on social media following an official visit to Lincoln, becoming the latest addition to the Huskers’ 2027 recruiting class.

Harris chose Nebraska over more than two dozen other scholarship offers. Finalists included Texas A&M and Pitt, with additional offers from programs such as Auburn, Michigan, and Ole Miss. The commitment came just after Nebraska extended its offer on May 30, highlighting the strong pull of the Cornhusker staff once they enter the picture.

As a junior, Harris recorded 67 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, three sacks, 23 quarterback hurries, and five pass breakups. His versatility and production on a loaded defensive front made him a standout, even as Grayson competed at the highest levels of Georgia high school football.

The commitment marks the third from Grayson High School to Nebraska’s 2027 class. Harris joins four-star interior offensive lineman Jordan Agbanoma and three-star offensive lineman KD Jones in what has become the newest pipeline for the Huskers. Offensive line coach Geep Wade’s connections in the state have played a key role in Nebraska’s aggressive pursuit of Georgia talent this cycle, and it doesn’t look like it will slow down anytime soon.

Defensive coordinator Rob Aurich has emphasized building depth across the front seven, and Harris provides an athletic, high-motor piece who could contribute on special teams early while developing into a significant role player in Aurich’s 4-2-5 defense.
