Nebraska has earned national recognition at the midpoint of the 2026 season, with three Huskers landing on mid-season All-America teams. Center Justin Evans and linebacker Owen Chambliss were named to The Athletic’s Mid-Season All-America Team, while cornerback Andrew Marshall was selected as a first-team mid-season All-American by both On3 and Sports Illustrated.

Evans, a two-year starter and preseason All-American by The Athletic, anchors an offensive line that has helped the Huskers rank in the top 40 nationally in both total offense and scoring offense heading into their Oct. 31 matchup with Washington. The Huskers also rank second in the Big Ten in third-down conversion rate, converting at better than 50 percent. Evans remains on the Rimington Trophy Watch List as a candidate for the nation’s top center.

Chambliss has emerged as a defensive standout after missing the season opener due to injury. The linebacker leads the team with 46 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one interception in six games. He has led Nebraska in tackles in three of its four Big Ten contests, including a career-high 15 tackles and two tackles for loss at Oregon, the first time a Husker has recorded 15 or more tackles in a game since 2022. Chambliss anchors a unit ranked 11th nationally in total defense, 13th in turnover margin, and 16th in scoring defense. Since his return, Nebraska has allowed only one opponent to score more than 20 points. He is also a candidate for the Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker.

Marshall has started all seven games and recorded 21 tackles, four pass breakups, and an interception. According to Pro Football Focus, he has allowed just eight completions on 27 targets. He has posted four or more tackles in three games, including each of the last two, and ranks as the nation’s top cornerback in the Pro Football Network Impact Rankings. Marshall has started all 20 games since arriving before the 2025 season and earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten recognition as a junior with 45 tackles, four tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and an interception.
