Top-ranked Nebraska continued its dominant season Thursday night, rolling past UCLA in a sweep. The Huskers improved to 20-0 overall and 9-0 in the Big Ten, while the Bruins dropped to 15-5 and 6-3 in conference play. Nebraska is also now 50-0 in the regular season under DBK.

Nebraska hit .380 as a team and held UCLA to a .036 attacking percentage in a performance that marked the program’s 10th 20-0 start in history. The win extended the Huskers’ regular-season victory streak to 51 matches, the second-longest such streak in the NCAA era for the program, and pushed their consecutive regular-season home wins to 62, including the 60th straight at John Cook Arena.

Andi Jackson led the way with 11 kills on .625 hitting, adding six blocks and three digs for her 36th career match with at least 10 kills. Virginia Adriano contributed 10 kills on .333 hitting, while Harper Murray added nine kills, five digs, and three blocks. Teraya Sigler recorded eight kills on .471 hitting along with five digs, and Manaia Ogbechie chipped in four kills and three blocks. Setter Bergen Reilly posted her 48th career double-double with 39 assists, 10 digs, four blocks, and three kills. Defensively, Laney Choboy led with 13 digs and Olivia Mauch added 10.

In the opening set, Nebraska overcame an early 3-0 deficit and a later 9-6 UCLA lead. A 4-0 run during Sigler’s serve, fueled by three Bruins errors, gave the Huskers an 11-10 edge. After tying at 11, Nebraska scored three straight points, including a block by Murray and Jackson, to build a 20-16 cushion and never looked back. Adriano closed out the set with three of the final five points, including the set-point kill, as Nebraska finished with 17 kills and capitalized on six UCLA errors.

The second set was more one-sided. After UCLA briefly led 2-1, Nebraska reeled off four straight points on Mauch’s serve and never trailed. Choboy served a 6-0 run that pushed the lead to 11-3. Jackson was particularly effective with five kills and no errors while contributing to all four Nebraska blocks. The Huskers finished with 12 kills, four blocks, and one ace; UCLA committed more attack errors than kills. Murray sealed the set with a service ace.

Nebraska controlled the third set from the start. A block by Ogbechie and Murray opened a 3-0 lead, and back-to-back blocks involving Reilly and Ogbechie made it 10-3, prompting a UCLA timeout. Adriano’s consecutive kills on Sigler’s serve extended the margin to 14-6. The Bruins never closed within six points. Kenna Cogill added two kills to set up match point at 24-15, and Jackson ended the night with her 11th kill.

Nebraska remains at home this weekend to host USC in its annual Pink Match on Saturday, Oct. 24, at John Cook Arena. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m. on BTN.
