In a surprise move on Wednesday, three-star wide receiver Antayvious “Tay” Ellis has decommitted from Nebraska and reopened his recruitment for the 2027 class.
Ellis, who committed to the Huskers back in November 2025, transferred from Crowley High School in Texas to Omaha’s Millard South earlier this year so he could play his senior season alongside fellow Nebraska commit and future QB Trae Taylor.
Just last weekend he played his first game in a Millard South uniform. In a thrilling 35-34 win over rival Millard North, Ellis caught three passes for around 100 yards and hauled in a 67-yard touchdown strike from Taylor.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wideout (sometimes listed closer to 6-0) is a Class of 2027 prospect ranked as a three-star. He came to Nebraska with a solid Texas résumé that included roughly 65 catches for over 800 yards and 8-9 touchdowns as a junior, plus strong career production at Crowley.
No one knows what led to this decision at this time.
