Justin Evans, Andrew Marshall and Luke Lindenmeyer are set to represent the Husker football program at Big Ten Media Days next month. The trio will join head coach Matt Rhule in Chicago on July 30, with Nebraska taking the stage as one of six schools featured on the final day of the three day event at the Chicago Hilton.
Beyond the standard team previews, this year’s media days are expected to bring major news regarding the conference.
Anticipation is high for updates on the newly expanded conference schedule formats, potential future television revenue models, and evolving rules regarding player compensation and roster sizes. It will also offer a closer look at how the West Coast additions are adjusting to the travel and culture of the Midwest footprint.
While some programs tend to bring their most viral, flashy stars to capture headlines, Matt Rhule’s choice of representatives sends a completely different message. Evans, Lindenmeyer and Marshall are not necessarily the guys generating social media hype or flashy highlight reels, but they are the true workhorses of the roster. Selecting these specific players highlights a deliberate focus on leadership, consistency, and a relentless work ethic. It is a clear reflection of the blue collar culture and accountability that the coaching staff is building within the program.
Evans serves as an anchoring leader for the team. The East Orange, New Jersey native holds 31 career starts at Nebraska and has made 38 career appearances in a Husker uniform. He commands a deeply veteran offensive line that brings back two primary starters for the 2026 season.
Throughout the previous campaign, he started all 13 games at center and paved the path for running back Emmett Johnson to achieve first team All America honors. His versatility was on display the prior year when he started all 12 games at guard, which followed a redshirt freshman season where he appeared in all 13 games and logged five starts.
Lindenmeyer enters his fifth season inside the Husker program following a breakout performance as a junior. The tight end from La Vista, Nebraska earned honorable mention All Big Ten accolades after starting all 13 games last season. He pulled in 29 receptions for 312 yards and a pair of touchdowns, highlighted by a career high seven catches in a physical matchup against Michigan. During the previous year,
Lindenmeyer played in 13 games with five starts, securing five catches for 50 yards while establishing himself as one of the finest perimeter blockers on the roster.
Marshall proved to be a massive addition during his debut season in Lincoln after spending his first two collegiate years at Idaho. The Eastvale, California native started all 13 games at cornerback, racking up 45 tackles, four tackles for loss, one interception and four pass breakups. His steady play on the boundary earned him honorable mention All Big Ten recognition and fortified a defensive unit that finished the season ranked third in the nation in pass defense. Marshall has accumulated 27 career starts at the college level, showcasing a steady, veteran presence that fits perfectly into Nebraska’s gritty defensive identity.
